‘Tis the Season: 25 Days of (BIPOC)Small Business Shopping

This year things are different. I know, kinda the theme for the whole year, right? I tend to want to get into the Christmas spirit once December hits. I’m someone who likes to let each holiday breathe, let it have its own space to shine and be enjoyed. But this year is different. I’m finding myself wanting the festivities to commence immediately following Thanksgiving. And dare I say it, I haven’t even minded hearing a Christmas tune or two before Thanksgiving. Who am I?

I have noticed others around me sharing the very same sentiment. I believe this is a result of being in quarantine most of the year and being separated from the people and things we love the most. We just want to jump straight to the time of the year that is known to warm the heart and bring on a cheerful spirit. We want joy. I think we also want to fast forward to 2021 and be through with 2020.

That being said, the Sistahs are ready to be enveloped in the Christmas season! We see this Christmas being unique in that not only are we still in quarantine, there has been an amazing movement this year surrounding supporting small businesses, especially small businesses owned by people of color. We see so much greatness in our community and we want to use our platform to share it.

Starting today, for the next 25 days we will highlight small businesses owned by people of color during Sistahs with Sense 25 days of Small Business Shopping. Shop small this season and support those in your community. Happy shopping!
